Country singer Keith Urban has been announced as the ambassador of the Country Music Association's Music Education Matters campaign, which provides instruments and support to music programmes used by inner-city youth.

Urban, who also donated 60 guitars along with amps, strings and picks to five Music Education Matters partner programs across the US, commented 'Music is not only powerful, it's magical. It has the ability to bring people together, to inspire, calm, enhance creativity and intelligence, and to improve concentration. I'm so honoured and proud that the CMA Foundation has given us this opportunity to be a part of something that can have such a positive effect on so many young lives'.
